Both had a
great day. Manning threw for six touchdowns, three of which went to Beckham for
a total of 53 yards.
The Giants
battled all throughout the game. Both Manning and Saints quarterback Drew Brees
combined to throw for 13 touchdowns and no field goals through the first 59:55
of the game. The Giants have to come back in the fourth quarter, however, as
the Saints led by a score of 42-28 after the third quarter.
Manning
threw two touchdowns to former Dwayne Harris, who returned the Cowboys kickoff
100 yards for the go ahead touchdown in last week’s win.
The Giants
defense stepped up when they needed to, as well, as Trumaine McBride returned a
Saints fumble 63 yards for a touchdown that gave the Giants their first lead of
the game. Drew Brees threw his sixth and seventh touchdown pass in the fourth
quarter, and the game was tied at 49 with under a minute left.
The Saints
defense forced a punt, but they almost gave the ball back to the Giants when
Marcus Murphy returned to the punt to midfield, then fumbled. Snead recovered
for the Saints. A facemask on Giants punter Brad Wing gave the Saints the ball
at the Giants 32.
Saints
kicker Kal Forbath kicked a 50 yard field goal as time expired to win the game
by a score of 52-49. The game was the third highest scoring game in NFL
history.
The Giants
(4-4) will contrinue their road trip against the NFC South as they travel to
Tampa to take on rookie quarterback Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers, who are
coming off of an upset victory in Atlanta over the Falcons.
The Saints (4-4) will look to win their fifth straight home game when they host the Tennessee Titans next Sunday. The Titans lost today at Houston, allowing seven sacks.
