Louisville Comes Back to Beat Kentucky 38-24
Kentucky hosted Louisville in an annual in-state rivalry game known as the Governor's Cup. Kentucky needed to win this game over their rival to become bowl eligible. Louisville was looking for their fifth straight win in the series. Kentucky scored a touchdown on their first drive when freshman quarterback Drew Barker ran it in himself from two yards out. On Louisville’s first drive, quarterback Kyle Bolin threw an interception to A.J Stamps which was return 35 yards to the 13 yard line. Kentucky only needed three plays to score a touchdown from Stanley Williams. Kentucky’s lead was now 14-0. Louisville was driving on their next drive, but Josh Forest intercepted a pass that was thrown off balance from Bolin. Forest returned the interception 81 yards for a touchdown to give Kentucky a commanding 21-0 lead. The Cardinals got on the board on a three-play drive.
