Can Jimmy Garappolo Keep the Patriots Afloat?

Image
(photo credit: sportingnews.com) Tom Brady has been suspended for the first four games of the 2016 NFL season due to his part in the 2014 AFC Championship game scandal known as Deflategate. Brady was accused of using footballs that were deflated by the smallest of margin in the Patriots 45-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Last offseason, Brady had been suspended for the first four games of the 2015 season, but that was upheld and he played all 16 games. Before then, however, it looked as if backup quarterback Jimmy Garappolo was going to take snaps in the 2015 season. Now, it looks as if he will be doing that to kick off the 2016 NFL season. The Patriots first four games are as follows: at Arizona Cardinals vs Miami Dolphins vs Houston Texans vs Buffalo Bills Can Garappolo get this team by without Brady or will they be in a hole after one month? Garappolo played in the 2015 preseason as it stood that Brady would be suspended for the first four games. Duri

Why the Patriots are Destined to Win Super Bowl LI

Image
(photo credit: cnn.com) A season full of injuries. Losing four of their final six games after a 10-0 start. Still just two points away from their second consecutive Super Bowl appearance.     In 2016, things are a lot different for the New England Patriots. They will have their entire team back and healthy. Dion Lewis missed half of last season with a torn ACL. Their other running back, Lagarrette Blount, was gone for the season after suffering a hip injury in Houston. Julian Edleman missed seven games with a broken foot. Rob Gronkowski missed a game with a bruised knee. This season, they're all coming back and healthy. This team is pretty much already destined to win Super Bowl LI in Houston on Feb. 5, 2017. Not only are all of these star players coming back healthy, but the Patriots still have arguably the best quarterback-head coach duo in NFL history in Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. They've also signed former Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans wide receive

(photo credit: MCC Baseball/Twitter) The Blue Colts softball team played a doubleheader against Montgomery County College on April 2. They had gotten off to a hot start by winning their first two games of the season. They were looking to continue their hot start. In Game 1, the Lady Colts scored 28 points in a dominating win over Montgomery They went on to win the game by a final score of 28-6. The ladies got out to an 8-3 lead after one inning, and added four more runs in the second inning. The third inning was when the Colts broke the game wide open. They scored 13 runs in the inning to open up a 25-6 lead. Brittany Clayton led the Lady Colts with five hits and five runs on five RBIs, including two home runs in the game. Lena Buccigrossi added a home run of her own, as well as three hits and five RBIs. Miami Marlins 2016 Preview: Is This Team World Series-bound?

Image
(photo credit: miamisportsnlife.wix.com/mslblog) The Miami Marlins were haunted by injuries to a few of their best players in 2015, including pitcher Jose Fernandez, who didn't take the mound until the beginning of July, and Giancarlo Stanton, who hit 27 HRs in 74 games before missing the rest of the season with injury. Had he been healthy all season, he would have been on pace for 59 home runs. Not only will the Marlins have these two players back healthy, but they will also be returning two other superstars in 2B Dee Gordon, who won the NL Golden Glove Award in his first season in Miami after being acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers last offseason, and future baseball Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki, who is just a few hits away from joining the 3,000 hit club. Justin Bour was another big part of the Marlins team last season. He hit 23 HRs and recorded 73 RBIs. He also recorded 20 doubles in 2015. Speaking of the Dodgers, the Marlins have also hired one of the best manage

The Texans Should Start Brandon Weeden in 2016

(photo credit: houston.cbslocal.com) The Houston Texans re-signed Brandon Weeden to a two-year deal last week, but they also signed former Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler to a four-year, $72 milllion deal last month. Osweiler became a big-name QB after upsetting Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Week 12 of the 2015 NFL season. Or did he? The real hero of that game was Broncos running back CJ Anderson, who scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime. Brock struggled in the team's next game in Pittsburgh and they lost. The Texans definitely overpaid Osweiler. Starting him Week 1 in 2016 would be a bad choice on head coach Bill O' Brien's part. Brandon Weeden is the perfect quarterback for the Texans in 2016. Sure, his time in Dallas didn't go exactly according to plan filling in for the injured Tony Romo, but when he went to Houston, he led the team to two big wins over AFC South rival Tennessee Titans and helped the team win their first ever game in
