The Rose Bowl is Perfect for Iowa

Everyone likes to say that the Iowa Hawkeyes didn’t belong in the College Football Playoff because they didn’t play anyone with a winning record. But what they don’t realize is when Iowa’s schedule was made, no one expected them to be undefeated going into the Big Ten Championship game against Michigan State. The only reason that Iowa is not in the College Football Playoff is because of their loss to Michigan State.

They will now play in the Grandaddy of them all, the Rose Bowl, against the Pac-12 Champion Stanford Cardinal. The Rose Bowl was the absolute perfect bowl for Iowa. If you can’t get into the College Football Playoff, the next bowl to get an invitation to is the Rose Bowl. Iowa belongs in the Rose Bowl. There is no doubt that they got exactly what they deserved.

Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz is also happy with the Rose Bowl bid. “We’re just absolutely thrilled to get the news today about being invited to the Rose Bowl and play the Pac 12 Champion, Stanford,” he told NBC 13 (WHO-TV, Des Moines, IA).


Had Iowa beaten Michigan State in Indianapolis on Saturday, they would have been in the College Football Playoff. As the saying goes, however, it’s not how you start. It’s how you finish. Iowa will play Stanford in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day at 5 p.m. on ESPN. This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

The Incredible Story of Audrey Walker

Nine year old Audrey Walker of Campbell, CA is a miracle of God. Walker was born with several medical conditions that caused her to be born without eyes and she had immediate open heart surgery after she was born.  The troubles didn't stop there, however. 10 days after the surgery, Audrey's throat began to close. Breathing became impossible. She once again had to have emergency surgery to remove what her father, Jim Walker, called the "abnormal blocking growth" in her throats that closed it up and prevented her from breathing.  The story begins before she was even born. When Jim and his wife Heather went for the ultrasound, doctors said that Audrey would come out dead or would need emergency life-saving surgery the moment she was born. New York Giants Also a Serious Contender in 2016

(photo credit: bossip.com) The New York Giants are beginning to look like a Super Bowl team once again in 2016. They have three great wide receivers in Odell Beckham Jr, Victor Cruz and rookie receiver Sterling Shepard out of Oklahoma.  They of course still have their Hall of Fame quarterback in Eli Manning and their defense has also grown a great deal. They will Jason Pierre Paul back for the entire season after he missed half of last season after losing a finger in a July 4, 2015 fireworks accident.  They also recently signed DE Olivier Vernon, who recently was with the Miami Dolphins. They also got a huge draft pick with Ohio State cornerback Eli Apple with the 10th overall pick. The offense will sure be a hot one, the defensive line will be one teams will be preparing for and the secondary will be one that will be tops in the league.  The only missing piece to the Giants playoff puzzle is a running back that is consistent, something they have not had since Ahmad Bradshaw.
